Criccieth is a small attractive holiday resort situated on Tremadog Bay. The town was originally an ancient borough granted a Charter in 1284. It's crowning glory is the 13th Century Welsh origin castle, atop a rocky mound jutting out to sea between two contrasting south facing beaches.

From the castle there are magnificent views in all directions. It is known as "The Pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia".

Whilst being ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday by the sea, Criccieth is also a good location for touring the Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia and the Cambrian Coast, plus of course, for playing golf.

Criccieth Golf Club was founded in 1905 and is situated approximately one mile inland from the town centre. It is a small extremely friendly and somewhat unique club steeped in history. One of its past Presidents was David Lloyd George who was Liberal Prime Minister during the First World War. In fact the club can boast that three twentieth century Prime Ministers played a round of golf together when Lloyd George was joined by Andrew Bonar Law and Winston Churchill.

The small modest clubhouse provides a homely atmosphere, and visitors will be assured of a warm welcome, with the Stewards in attendance all year round. Refreshments can be especially enjoyed when sitting in the south facing glazed verandah, overlooking the 16th green and a Cardigan Bay vista which includes Criccieth and Harlech Castles. The new patio area with commanding views across the course should also prove a popular area during the summer months.
